If you are looking for a Mediterranean restaurant in Englewood, New Jersey that feels like dinner and a night out all in one, Lulu Lounge needs to be on your radar. This stylish spot brings together live music, dancers, a full bar, and modern Turkish Mediterranean food, creating an atmosphere that works for both celebrations and special family dinners.
We visited with Dad, and by the end of the night, we were full, happy, and fully sold on Lulu.

Starters: Sigara Börek, Salad, and Grilled Octopus
We kicked things off with sigara börek, crisp golden pastry rolls filled with cheese. Simple, hot, and addictive, they were an instant favorite at the table (especially Dad’s). The village salad added freshness with bright veggies, feta, and olive oil, setting a classic Mediterranean tone.
From there, things stepped up with the Lulu fresh grilled octopus – tender, nicely charred and full of smoky flavor – and the beet labneh, a creamy, tangy dip with a deep magenta color that looked as good as it tasted. Around this time, the belly dancer took the floor, and the room shifted from “nice dinner” to “full-on experience” in the best way.

For the main course, Lulu leans into classic Turkish flavors with a polished touch. The Lulu shish kebab, made with juicy marinated filet mignon, was grilled perfectly and packed with flavor – easily one of the standout dishes of the night. We also tried the whole red snapper, served beautifully and cooked so the fish stayed moist and flaky. The preparation was clean and confident, letting the quality of the fish speak for itself, and it ended up being another Dad-approved favorite. Rounding things out, the İnegöl köfte – traditional Turkish meatballs – brought comfort and nostalgia, with a soft texture and warm spices that paired well with everything else on the table.
No visit to Lulu Lounge is complete without lingering over Turkish tea and dessert. The kunafe was the star: hot, cheesy, ultra-stringy in the center, with a crisp shredded pastry shell and syrup that tied everything together. It is the kind of dessert you keep going back to “for just one more bite.” We also tried the chocolate lava cake for a classic, rich finish, and a dessert called Pistachio Love, which leaned into nutty, creamy flavors for something a little different. An espresso martini from the bar tied it all together and matched the lounge vibe perfectly.
