We built EatLocalNJ for one simple reason: New Jersey has too many great places to eat for anyone to keep up on their own. From family-owned gems to viral new openings, there is always something worth trying. Our goal has always been to make discovering NJ food easier, more fun, and more local-first.
So when James “Murr” Murray from Impractical Jokers gave EatLocalNJ a shout out, it meant a lot. Not just because he’s a well-known name, but because he’s New Jersey through and through. It’s the kind of support that reminds us this community is growing in the best way.

If you’ve followed EatLocalNJ for a while, you already know our content is built around real local experiences. We’re not here to be overly formal or “food critic” style. We’re here to help people answer the question:
“Where should we eat?”
Whether you’re planning a weekend hangout, looking for a date night spot, mapping out your next brunch, or just want a place that you know will hit, EatLocalNJ is designed to be that trusted guide.
Murr’s shout out is one of those full-circle moments because it’s exactly the kind of energy we love: NJ supporting NJ.
What EatLocalNJ is all about
EatLocalNJ exists to spotlight the best of New Jersey’s food scene, while supporting the people behind it.
Here’s what we aim to bring to every post:
1) Making it easy to find where to eat in NJ
New Jersey is packed with options, and that’s the problem. Too many choices can make deciding harder. EatLocalNJ curates what’s worth your time so you can pick faster and enjoy more.
2) Helping local businesses get discovered
Small restaurants and hidden gems deserve visibility. We love being a bridge between local spots and the people who want to find them.
3) Building a community around NJ food
EatLocalNJ isn’t just a directory of places. It’s a community of people who love trying new spots, sharing recs, and putting friends on.
Murr Live in New Brunswick: Four shows at Stress Factory

To Murr: thank you for the shout out and the support. To everyone who follows, shares, tags, and sends recommendations: thank you. EatLocalNJ continues to grow because the community keeps showing up for local food, local businesses, and local experiences.
